Humboldt Park - April 30, October 29


Learn how this Chicago neighborhood that attracted Norwegian, Swedish, German, and Jewish families has become home to Puerto Ricans and others today. This tour will take us through the Humboldt Park neighborhood and Division Street corridor with stops at Humboldt Park Boat House, the Institute of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture and a walking tour of the Humboldt Park Formal Garden.

Hyde Park and Kenwood - March 19, June 11, August 20
View the distinct architectural styles of these two neighboring lakefront communities featuring some of the city's most historic mansions and homes. Later, take a short walk through the Gothic quadrangle of the University of Chicago campus and visit The Oriental Institute Museum. Other stops include the Osaka Garden and St. Thomas the Apostle Church upon availability.

Soul of the Southside - February 5, June 25
Venture through several of the city's largest African American communities, alive with cultural, historical and architectural treasures. Begin with a guided tour of the sprawling historic landmark, the South Shore Cultural Center. Then, travel through the South Shore, Greater Grand Crossing and Chatham neighborhoods, followed by a tour of eta Creative Arts Foundation - a leading African American theater, and St. Philip Neri Church when available.

Ukrainian Village - April 9, August 13


Journey to this quiet, Old World neighborhood filled with magnificent churches and ethnic museums, where you will learn about the influx of Ukrainians to Chicago. Join our guide for a walking tour through the neighborhood stopping at The Ukrainian National Museum. Other stops include Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Church and the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Cathedral, designed by Louis Sullivan in 1899, upon availability.
 
Neighborhood Tours depart at 10:00 AM from the Chicago Cultural Center, 77 E. Randolph Street at Michigan Avenue.
